Mustangs Win Silver In Brampton!
The girls travelled to Brampton this past weekend to take part in the 23rd Annual Brampton Cougars tournament. The Mustangs went 2-1 during round-robin play, which was good enough for a bye to the finals as they held the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Round robin highlights included 3 different Mustang players scoring their first goals of the season along with defeating a B level team.
Facing off against North Bay in the finals, regulation ended in a 1-1 tie. The Mustangs then went 4-on-4 for 5 minutes of sudden death and were still unable to break the tie. Eventually losing a heart-breaker in the shootout, the girls should be very proud of their accomplishments as one referee described our team as both "skilled and polite" after the game he officiated. The girls now begin provincial playdowns this week vs Stratford and Mitchell and hope to keep the momentum going. Go Mustangs!
