Mustangs Win Silver At WOAA Year End Tournament!
The Mustangs began the 5-team round-robin tournament with a 3-1 win over Kincardine Saturday morning. They then cruised to a 5-2 victory over Saugeen Shores later that afternoon. This put them in a 2-way tie for 1st place (with a bye to the finals on Sunday afternoon at stake). The tie breaker would go all the way to penalty minutes to decide it, but in the end, Upper Maitland won the right to bypass the semi, setting the stage for an eventual showdown with Wingham in the final.
Unfortunately, the Mustangs came out flat in the final falling 3-1 to Wingham (a team they hadn't lost to all year). Nonetheless, the girls had a very successful season finishing with an organization-high 29 wins! Your coaches were very proud of the way you played this season and wish to congratulate you on all your hard work. Good luck in your future hockey endeavours and we hope to see you all back in a Mustangs uniform next season!
