Bring the Heat Champs!
The U11C team participated in the Huron Heat- Bring the Heat tournament this past family day weekend. They battled the weather all weekend and provided a great ending to the tournament.

The played South Huron Friday early friday morning and took a 3-1 win. Early afternoon saw them face off against Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds that had travelled 8 hours to be at the tournament. The Mustangs were not prepared for the battle and lost 3-0.  Saturday they saw a familiar foe in Saugeen Shores Storm and pulled out a 2-1 win. That sent them straight to the semi finals on sunday morning.  The host team of Huron Heat would put up a good fight, but the Mustangs came out on top with the 4-1 win, sending them to the finals against Temiskaming.  The final game was a battle back and forth between these two heavy weights with regulation ending in a 0-0 tie. They headed into a 5 minute 3-on-3 overtime where neither team could find the back of the net. Both goalies were at the top of their games making some great saves. Into shoot outs they headed, with the Mustangs scoring on the first try when Ayla Snider deeked the goalie and found the back of the net. Brynn Ritchie saved the shots on the other end to keep the Mustangs in the lead. Sabrina Keil buried a shot as the third shooter to give the Mustangs some breathing room. Brynn again saved the third shot to secure the win and give the Mustangs the Championship.  Congratulations to the U11C team on their second tournament championship this year.!
