Upper Maitland Mustangs

As the 2020 - 2021 hockey season approaches there are still some unknowns at this time.  Hockey Canada and OWHA have released a set of return to hockey guidelines.  That being said the Municipalities are part of Stage 3 openings and that leaves some unknowns. We are working with Howick Township and Town of North Perth to secure ice times and ensure a safe return to hockey.

At this point we have decided to run registration for the 2020-21 season.  Please refer to our Registration tab for more information.

Season Start
We are hopeful for an early October start time.  We will communicate more on this as information becomes available

Stage 3b started on September 1 and consists of individual and group training, return to practice and play (subject to ice availability).  We are working on the required Return to Play Programming Plan for review and approval by OWHA.  Team travel has been restricted and game play within a pod of 50 players and we are working with neighbouring girls hockey centers to establish this. At this time a more non-traditional team structure will apply (3 on 3 or 4 on 4).  Tournaments are not allowed at this time.

Thank you for your patience.  We understand there are still some unknowns and that you as parents would like to know what is going on.  We want to get the players back on the ice as early as we can but also in the safest manner possible.  We will continue to share information as it becomes available.  Please reach out [email protected] with any questions. You can also find more information on the regulations on the OWHA website which is www.owha.on.ca

Thank you,

Upper Maitland Mustangs Executive
