Woolwich Wild Tournament Champions!
Submitted By Dennis Mueller on Monday, December 2, 2019
The Mustangs took part in the Woolwich Wild Annual Shootout this past weekend in Elmira.  Being an 8-team/2 pool format, the girls went a perfect 3-0 in pool play (surrendering only 1 goal the entire tournament).  This was more than good enough to advance them to the 1/4 Finals on Saturday afternoon.

In the 1/4 Final Game, Upper Maitland faced the Brock Junior Badgers and although they got off to a slow start, finished with a 2-0 win to advance to the Semi Finals on Sunday morning.

Battling fatigue (and the elements) the girls stayed perfect Sunday morning defeating host Woolwich Wild 3-0 in the Semi Final game in St. Jacobs.  Through the freezing rain they went, back to Elmira for the gold medal game, where they would once again shutout their opponents, defeating the London Devilettes 3-0 in the Finals to bring home the gold!

A smothering defense; very strong goaltending; & some timely scoring have led the Mustangs to an impressive start this season as they have yet to lose a game in league or exhibition play thus far.  Keep up the great work girls, your coaches are very proud of the way you played this weekend!
