Atom, 2019-2020 (Upper Maitland Mustangs)

     The Mustangs began the 5-team round-robin tournament with a 3-1 win over Kincardine Saturday morning.  They then cruised to a 5-2 victory over Saugeen Shores later that afternoon.  This put them in a 2-way tie for 1st place (with a bye to the finals on Sunday afternoon at stake).  The tie breaker would go all the way to penalty minutes to decide it, but in the end, Upper Maitland won the right to bypass the semi, setting the stage for an eventual showdown with Wingham in the final. 

     Upper Maitland took part in the 24th Brampton Cougars Friendship Tournament this past weekend in Vaughan.  Being an 8-team/2 pool format, the girls went 2-1 in pool play and outscored their opponents 17-5 over the course of the 5-game tournament. 

     The Mustangs took part in the Woolwich Wild Annual Shootout this past weekend in Elmira.  Being an 8-team/2 pool format, the girls went a perfect 3-0 in pool play (surrendering only 1 goal the entire tournament).  This was more than good enough to advance them to the 1/4 Finals on Saturday afternoon.
