Atom C, 2018-2019 (Upper Maitland Mustangs)

     The Mustangs hosted the WOAA Year End Tournament this past weekend in Howick and things didn't exactly go as planned.  The girls dropped the first game to provincials-bound Owen Sound 3-1.  Jayla scored the Mustangs lone goal (assisted by Isabelle & Chloe).     

The Mustangs hosted two very strong teams this past week (one of which is heading to provincials).  Both games resulted in ties, but provided some very good competition to prepare them for this weekend's year end tournament in Howick.   

The Mustangs finished their regular season strongly with 3 more wins-extending their win streak to 5 heading into the playoffs. The girls hosted a strong Huron Heat team Sun Mar 3rd and won 2-0.  Solid defense was the key to this victory.

     The Mustangs have gone 2-0 in back to back nights recently defeating Central Perth 10-1 and South Huron 3-1.      Isabelle (4), Jayla (3) & Alyssa (2) had multiple goal outings while Chloe added a single marker in the Central Perth game.      Jayla (2) and Isabelle (1) were the goal scorers in the South Huron win. 

     The Mustangs have faced 4 out of the top 6 Atom-C teams in the province over the last 5 games and although they have not always came out on the winning side, none of the games were ever out of reach.  All but one loss would have been by a single goal if not for empty netters at the end.
